North Lane is a boutique yoga and pilates studio tucked off a residential street in Canmore. We keep classes small — twelve mats, never more — so teachers can actually teach, not just count breaths. Drop in, take a pack, or settle in for the season.
Book a classAn unhurried Vinyasa class focused on breath, alignment, and the long hold. Soft music, considered transitions, room to settle.
Classical reformer work in a small group. Eight reformers, one teacher, full attention. Not a beginner class — a foundation course is required.
A midday reset. Long-held passive poses, dim lights, focus on connective tissue. You'll leave looser than you arrived.
A stronger flow practice for the end of the day. Builds heat, opens hips and shoulders, ends with a long savasana. Open to all but moves at pace.
Strength-focused mat work. Core, posture, breath. No equipment beyond a mat — so a great place to start with Pilates if you're new.
Long, slow, supported postures with bolsters and blankets. Designed to undo the week. Limited to twelve mats; almost always sells out.

"Twelve mats is enough. The point is for the teacher to actually see you, your knees, your shoulders, the moment you stopped breathing."
North Lane was opened in 2019 with one practical rule: no class would ever exceed twelve mats. Most studios run 20-30, because the math works better. We made the math work differently — slightly higher prices, fewer classes per day, teachers paid for their attention rather than their reach.
The result is a studio that feels small. People know each other. Teachers know hands and hips and what your back was doing last week. New people come back. That's what we built it for.
All formats are 45–90 minutes. Levels are advisory, not strict.
